Being creative is a blessing and a curse. I mostly find it a curse because my mind is constantly being inspired and inventing new ideas that I just don’t have the time to pursue. One minuet all I can think about is a new knitting project, the next day I’m obsessed with finding the perfect quilt fabric. Then suddenly ill want to spend all my time creating abstract paintings only to suddenly be overwhelmed with the urge to create random illustrations that may or may not ever become completed artworks.
I would like to be able to focus on just one thing at a time but I can’t. My brain goes in five different directions and I don’t have the time to complete anything.
These sketches I’m hoping to convert into paintings that combine both abstract elements and realistic figures. But first I need to work on more samples and tutorials for the online abstract workshop I had planned on having finished before Christmas.
There are still several paintings for sale at half price in my etsy shop, please buy them so I can make room to create more lol.
In the mean time I’m going to keep sketching and jotting down ideas until I can find time to create them. While attempting to plough through some more of my to do list.
In all her moody pre-teen glory.
It is not 100% finished yet. I need to let it dry a little then assess what needs to be tweaked. I feel into the trap of over working it which I do often, so it has lost the sketchy feel I wanted to keep. Next time I’ll try to remind myself to back off a bit.
Afternoon everyone, after spending all morning in a massive spring cleaning frenzy, i’ve finally just done a quick shop update with some more recent paintings on ETSY.
Head on over to have a look, a few of these will be featured as tutorials in the upcoming workshop, but my little house is bursting at the seams with paintings at the moment so they have to find new homes.
I’m also going to be taking part in blogtobetfest so prepare yourselves for an onslaught of daily blog updates
This was a struggle from start to finish, hence the title lol
It’s a colour pallet I’m not use to but although it has turned out nothing like what I imagined (what’s new?) I’m quite pleased with it.
It is 18″ x 18″ acrylic on canvas. I will photograph it properly tomorrow and then you will find it on etsy with the rest.
