Noah loves In the Night Garden, especially the Iggle piggle character so I decided to make him one. I borrowed a pattern off a friend but I didn’t end up using it because the finished doll ends up way too big for what I wanted. So I just made up my own. I think he is cuter than the original version.
Complete with little red blanket and button nose. I think he will be very loved by a certain little boy when he gets home this afternoon
Been doing a bit of crochet the past few days. Firstly I made this little monster for Charlees girlfriend. The pattern is by fresh stitches (which you can find on etsy and craftsy). It was an extremely easy pattern, so easy in fact that if you are half decent at crochet you could probably work it out yourself. But if you are lazy like me and can’t be bothered sitting there working out how many stitches, increases and decreases you will need then just pay the $4 and download it.
While looking around for patterns I stumbled across this one on etsy by a seller called mrfox. It screamed koby so I brought that one too and finished making up a zombie bunny this afternoon.
His crazy flesh-eating teeth just crack me up. I’ve been told I need to make another one for Noah, and I will once I’ve made my next two projects which are a couple of little owls for some brand new babies that I know.
I shall get started on those later tonight.
Right now I am enjoying the last few moments peace between one set of children leaving and the other set arriving. . . Might sneak in a quick cuppa and a lamington while no one is here to see
I decided on a whim to make this little bear yesterday. He is crochet and made from some fluffy yarn I’ve had in my stash for ages (no idea what I originally brought it for).
I think I might make another one tonight, just because they are pretty darn cute and really quick to make as well. The hardest part was working with the fuzzy yarn, god that stuff is atrocious to use and makes it almost impossible to see what you are doing.
Noah is totally in love with trigger. The poor puppy gets no rest when he is around but it is very cute to watch. He is already very patient with Noah, who is still learning the meaning of “gentle”.
I also have a bit of a confession to make, I am seriously considering giving up on the whole psychology degree idea. I don’t know what I was thinking, I am no where near smart enough for it and I am really struggling. Although I have passed everything so far with credits it has been like pulling teeth and my brain just can’t cope. I have lost all motivation.
At the moment I am just going to take this term off to give myself a break, and I will reassess in a month or two.
I feel like a total failure. I’ve been struggling with bad self esteem thoughts all month, beating myself up about how much I suck and how dumb I am, how it’s just one more thing I’ve failed at. But I forced myself to knock it off and give myself a little credit for at least having a crack at it. And just because I’m having a break doesn’t mean I won’t continue it later.
It was just all too hard, too much work and not enough time or motivation. So now I am right back where I started eight months ago. I think I need to resign myself to the fact that I am born to create things, my creativity is what I do best and what comes naturally. I need to stop fighting it and treating it as something that isn’t real or as good as a “real” job, like it isn’t worthy of my time and energy. It’s not just a hobby. It’s what I do and I need to embrace it and focus my energy on it to see where it leads and what I can make of it.
It could end up being another waste of time but at least I enjoy myself while I’m doing it lol.
I finally finished off the last if the Easter bunnies for the kids, all seven of them. I must say that they are mighty cute and were great to use up left over bits of wool and felt.
Each one has an initial on it do there are no arguments and so each bunny knows who it’s owner is.
Three more sleeps until we all go camping. We have been running around getting everything organized all week, now it’s just a matter of packing clothes, loading up the trailer and checking off the numerous and extensive lists. Going away with nine people is hard enough to coordinate without the added trouble of camping equipment but I think we have everything organized and we are prepared for absolutely everything.
Easter is just around the corner which means its time to start stock piling chocolate. It also means I need to get organized. I try to make the kids a little bunny of some kind for Easter every year, last year I made little tiny knitted bunnies, the year before I sewed up a few little bunnies out of scrap fabric.
Anyway this year because of the bonus children I have acquired I need to make twice as many little bunnies so I’ve started with lots of time to spare.
I came across a very cute crochet pattern over on this blog here for a spring bunny that I decided i just had to make.
Thankfully it is a really quick pattern to crochet. I finished two of the seven I need to make yesterday afternoon, it worked out to be a little over two hours for each bunny which I think isn’t too bad.
My cardigan has been put on hold while I spend some time making the rest of these little guys. I’m trying to keep them a secret for now, we’ll see how long that lasts lol
