Charlee’s girls, Jessie and Mia, needed some new clothes so I spent the morning at craft group hand stitching these dresses. I brought a digital pattern book on etsy the other day and printed two patterns out this morning.
I am really happy with how the blue one turned out. It has a little collar and everything which was very fiddley but worth it.
The red one is made from felt and came out a touch too big. I think I just added a little too much seam allowance so I’ll cut it back a bit next time.
I called into a local quilting shop this afternoon and picked up some cheap little scraps of pretty fabric to make more.
I know you’re probably thinking that I have enough fabric and why don’t I just use my own scraps but I find Blythe clothes tend to look better with small printed fabric and most of what is in my stash is large print. This little pile only cost $10 and I will get lots out outfits made out of it do it’s worth it.
I ordered a new girl for Charlees birthday yesterday. She has to come from Hong Kong so she will be here in a few weeks. Charlee chose her a few months back so it’s not much of a surprise but it doesn’t matter. This is what she looks like here
I’m going to try to keep the clothes I make a surprise for her birthday as well but I don’t like my chances.
Well another Friday is here which means the weekend is upon us again. I still have some spots left for the beginner photography workshop which is happening next weekend if you know anyone in Melbourne who would be interested.
