Ok, so I’ve been thinking…

(and no it doesn’t hurt :p) for a few weeks now I’ve been trying to decide whether I should run a painting workshop. Just like the beginner photography workshops I have done in the past (and will be doing in the future as soon as I get myself organized) I was thinking of running a creative beginner painting workshop.

It would be based mostly around creating more of an abstract type painting, so no real drawing or painting skills would be required. Just some enthusiasm and a willingness to get a little messy. Most of the materials required would be included in the price with a few small exceptions (otherwise the whole thing will get way too pricy).

The goal would be that by the end of the day everyone will have produced one or even two of their very own original abstract artworks.

Right now, all I’m after is some feedback, to gauge interest and to also work out logistically what the best way of doing this would be.

Would this be something you would be interested in or do you know someone in Melbourne who would be interested?

If you are not in Melbourne, would you be interested in doing something like this if it was available online with video tutorials?

My main problem is a location one, where would I fit half a dozen people with canvases and art supplies that are likely to make a big mess? I have thought about looking into local halls but I really want to keep this at an affordable level (I.e well under $300 per person) but hiring such places would blow that away (on top of materials and food and allowing myself a small profit lol).

So there are just a few of my dilemmas, but everyone has to start somewhere with their hair brained ideas, so if you have five minuets it would be a HUGE help if you gave me some feedback or even if you have any ideas that you think would make this kind of thing run smoothly I would really appreciate it.

maybe… Just maybe I can get this to work Lol

I would be interested in doing an online one Clair. I’m not far from Melbourne but would rather do it at home when I have the time. I’d also be hoping it would be cheaper this way! ;P
