Trent’s kids were dropped off just before tea time on Friday, as usual every second month they are here two nights instead of just one. The boys immediately fell into action and started warfare against the girls… something about them harboring enemy germs. War games continued until Noah was sent to bed and the rest had to resort to quiet play.
After a busy morning cleaning up the house in order to earn some pocket money (everyone earned an even wage of $2 for an hours cleaning… Pretty fair I’d say) we took the tribe down to Kmart to spend their hard earned money on various sugary items. It’s always amusing to see people’s faces as us and our seven children noisily walk buy. As usual they all went in seven different directions (except for the littlest who was confined to the trolly for my own sanity) but we managed to heard them together again and begun the painful process of waiting for them each to decide what to spend their $2 on.
An hour or so later we headed back home again and then mostly just hung around outside. The children were rather high on sugar for most of the afternoon so they burnt up as much energy as possible fighting and riding bikes outside while I froze my butt off supervising.
Of course the moment I step inside Noah and kyran decide to start playing in the left over car oil Trent left in the car port. Two sets of ruined clothing later and the children were all sent back inside.
We had a yummy roast for tea, cooked by the man, followed by ice creams for desert. A pretty ordinary Saturday around here. Lots of noise and mess and fighting and laughing and eating. Always with the eating.
Tomorrow I have to work all day so Trent will be left to fend for himself, he will only have half the children though as mine are off to their dads for the day.
So that’s a brief peek into our Saturday. How was yours?
