Well the school holidays have begun and for reasons unknown my fabulous sleeping two year old has decided to begin greeting the day at 5:30, for no particular reason.
Three days in a row now, as Trent has woken me at 6 to give a smooch goodbye as he heads to work, he has informed me that the ” light is on in the boys room and it sounds like Noah is awake”.
Poor koby bears the brunt of this as he informs me Noah climbs into his bed and gives him cuddles for a while and then gets bored, turns the light on and starts mucking around… All well before the sun is even up.
The last two mornings I have brought him into bed with me to give Koby a chance to go back to sleep, even if I don’t, but it’s a habit I really don’t want to encourage. He does eventually doze back to sleep but I never do, and besides that I don’t want him to think getting up at sparrows fart is a good thing.
I have ordered the boys bunks off eBay and I’m expecting them to be delivered some time this week, I’m hoping once he is set up in his big boy bed and he can no longer easily reach koby (or the light switch as I will be putting the bed on the opposite wall) these early morning antics will come to an end.
I am taking my three down to Venus bay on Friday until Sunday with my parents. I felt like the kids and I needed a bit of a break away from the others. It’s been ages since they haven’t had to share me with the other kids over the weekend so I’m really looking forward to spending some quality time with just them and I know they are thankful for the break.
It will do Trent good to spend the weekend with his kids alone as well, because I know they hate having to share him with me and my kids every weekend as well.
Hopefully it won’t just rain all weekend so we get to go play on the sand for a while or even go fishing. Just being able to sit and do nothing is a holiday as far as I’m concerned lol.
While there I am DETERMINED to finish my damn birdy cardigan. I just want it done and finished so I can wear it before summer comes back. I am 3/4 of the way through the second arm, then I just have to attach them to the body and finish the shoulders and edging. It doesn’t seem like much but it has been dragging because I’m getting sick of doing it. I’m so close now that I can’t give up. It has to be done. So hopefully I’ll come back next week with photos of my completed cardigan. Hurrah.
