Last Wednesday was Anzac day here in Australia which is a public holiday. For some reason my brain didn’t click that because of the public holiday, trent wouldn’t be at work. I knew the kids had no school and would be spending the day at their dads, so I just thought I’d be spending a boring day at home by myself.
Instead I woke up and realized my man was still home! Yay. He usually leaves at about 5:30am so we very rarely spend the morning together. But on Wednesday I woke to the smell of bacon and eggs which were presented to me in bed.
We then decided to head out together and do a bit of 4WDing, despite the fact it has been raining here non stop all week, we thought it was a good idea at the time. So we called a mate in to come with us in case we got stuck and headed up to a few tracks near Warburton which is not far from here.
It was great fun, I’ve only ever been twice before and that was with kids in tow, knowing it was just us that would possibly be stranded Trent was a little more adventurous than normal. My knuckles were white on several occasions while I held on so tight and I’m pretty sure I suffered a mild whiplash after one very big bump. Lol
We did manage to get bogged in some mud once, we watched the other guy go through it ok but we didn’t make it lol. So he had to pull us out.
But we returned the favor when ten minuets later he decided to try and go up an embankment that turned out to be a little too ambitious and he got stuck.
It was good wet dirty fun, we had a great day. Can’t wait to go back with the kids to a few new tracks we discovered. They will love it.
In other news, I am coming along slowly with my cardigan. I have finished the body up to the armholes and I am now halfway through my first sleeve.
It’s looking good, I just want to get it finished now so I can start to wear it. Winter has well and truly struck melbourne this week.
I also finished off this new cross stitch the other day to add to the collection. The notebook pattern was inspired by something I saw on pinterest and the quote is something that I truly believe to be true and something I want my kids to remember and believe.
And finally tomorrow my bubba chunks turns two. I don’t want him to keep growing, it’s too fast. I want my last bubba to stay little forever
We are having family over on Saturday to celebrate, nothing too fancy this year. But for now my coffee is empty which means I need to get off the computer and tidy up a bit. Ta ta
